Navigate like a hot air balloon

I just read how someone steers a hot air balloon: they change the altitude. The winds change with altitude, therefore, if you need to move in a certain direction you either go up higher or drop down lower.

Sometimes in our work, families or friendships we keep floating along hoping for something else to change or someone else to direct us. However, we need to make an adjustment – even if it’s small – because by moving slightly higher or lower we can alter the direction that our lives are heading.

We don’t get where we want to be by simply floating and hoping. We need to make a change, a shift in thinking, a phone call, start writing that book, start building that business, talk with your spouse and kids. The emphasis is not on the strength of the winds or the quality of the balloon, rather the decision of the person flying it.
