Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Jesus said this. Typically we can get a good gauge of what’s going on inside us by what’s coming out of our mouths. What’s the consistent theme of our discussions? Is it money? Is it time? Is it just small talk? Or are our conversations marked by generosity towards others? Maybe even curiosity of those around us? While the farmer sleeps, the seeds grow and he crop is produced. When you look at the harvest it’s pretty evident what’s been planted. A lot of the time we are trying to get out what’s inside of us, but it might be worth surveying what’s coming out in order to know what’s really going on underneath the surface.
